“Kid X Was Supposed To Be The Drake Of Cashtime” – K.O
Cashtime Life label co-founder K.O has come out to say that “kid X was supposed to be the Drake of
Cashtime” in an interview with Slikouronlife.
"I was
literally inspired by the Young Money/Cash Money model. (Kid) X to me was
supposed to be the Drake of this situation. By now he was supposed to be bigger
than K.O and he was the sole person responsible to make that happen," K.O
said in the interview.
This comes
after K.O issued a statement addressing Kid X’s departure from the label. Kid X
announced that he was leaving Cashtime this month on Live Amp.
According to
K.O, the South African Music Awards nominated 3 Quarter Pace EP was supposed to
be a full length release but couldn’t due to quality reasons.
"Maybe he
thought we were shooting down his idea but it was us basing it on what we heard
in the demo. The biggest thing was that I wouldn't allow someone to go out
there and be burnt on my watch," K.O said. The demo was cleaned up by Kid
X's team and was released as a SAMA-nominated EP.
Kid X who joins
female rapper Moozlie as the second artist to leave the label this year has
already released a single thanking Cashtime for the time he spent at the label.
