MTV Base Announces Performers for The 2016 MAMA Awards

MTV has announced hip hop rapper Nasty C, “Wololo” hitmaker Babes Wodumo and Nigerian singer Yemi Alade as the first headliners for the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards. 

The awards will be held on Saturday 22 October, 2016 at Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg for the very first time.

The first 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards nominees will be announced in Johannesburg on September 21 and the second nominees in Lagos on October 2.

Some of past winners of the awards ceremony that were first held in 2008 in Abuja, Nigeria include 2Face Idibia, Cassper Nyovest, Davido, D’Banj, Gangs of Ballet, HHP, Fally Ipupa, Liquideep, Mafikizolo, Lira, Nameless, Clarence Peters, Diamond Platnumz, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, and many more.
