Moz Kidd Asks “What Were You Doing At 19” With Debut Mixtape
South African
rapper Moz Kidd has released his debut mixtape titled “What Were You Doing At
19”. The over 45 minute long tape consists of 13 tracks and one bonus single
titled “I Wanna Know” featuring Rikky Rick.
Other features
on the mixtape come from Blaze and DJ Slick.
Production on
the project was mostly handled by Reggie who produces 7 tracks. Other producers
on the tape include Y, 6ix, CI, FLY, Toc Flo and Vam.
The 19 year old
rapper said he was inspired to release such a project because he felt boxed in by
his earlier singles.
“I would usually pick a single based on which song I think
people will like the most or let me rather say, which song they could “groove”
to the most and then what happens is all the singles end up sounding similar
but with this project I decided just to be myself and record what I like and
relate to how I was feeling at the moment. I loved that,” the young artist
said.
He continued saying, “My fans on social media have been
begging me to release new material so I also felt that after the long wait,
nothing would satisfy them more than a full project instead of just a single or
just a video”.
