Lil Kesh Talks About Starting And Running His Own Label “YAGI Records”

Former YBNL artist Lil Kesh has come out to speak about how it’ s challenging running his own record label “YAGI Records” at young age in a recent interview with Nigerian entertainment website tooXculsive.

“It’s more challenging, It’s like you wanna be that 22 year old guy that you are but you really can’t because you have grown more responsibilities, ” he says. “Controlling the business and career. It’s a good thing I still have YBNL as my management, they still do most of the inside work. It is more responsibility let me put that way.”

The 22 year old rapper also said that he started his own record label because he wanted to let his legacy grow and help other artists just like his former boss Olamide helped him.

“It started with somebody like Baddo at a very young age as well,” he says of Olamide. “He single handedly tried to build his career to the point that he did then started believing in other guys. I was one of those guys he believed in, picked me up. And then as strong as I am today you feel me that is the legacy. I mean I am doing very well for myself. It’s only proper that I do onto others what was done to me.”

Lil Kesh explained that if he is to sign an artist on his label he will want a person who has potential and hunger to use his/her talent as far as it can go. He also said that this year he is concerned more with building his brand as an artist.

“At this point Lil Kesh is also still growing,” he says. “And as YAGI Records is concerned I am still the only artist on and I am still working on myself as a brand, we are still shooting videos off the YAGI album. I’m still gonna drop new singles, there is still gonna be collaborations and all that.”
